Built for the work that comes next.
How National IT transformed Multiworks Australia from a $1,700-a-year IT setup into an enterprise-ready environment, cleared to tender for government and defence contracts.
When National IT first engaged with Multiworks, the business was spending around $1,700 a year on IT. There was no structured support, no meaningful security posture, and no foundation capable of supporting a growing civil contractor with ambitions to work with larger clients, including government and defence.
The environment was functional enough to get through the day, but it wasn't built to scale, and it certainly wasn't built to pass the scrutiny of enterprise procurement.
We started from the ground up. The business was migrated from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, giving the team a standardised, enterprise-ready platform. Meraki firewalls secured the network, and the broader environment was cleaned up and properly documented for the first time.
The more significant work was lifting Multiworks' security and compliance posture to a level that would hold up under examination. For a civil contractor looking to grow, the ability to demonstrate robust IT governance is increasingly a commercial prerequisite, not just a technical consideration.
Multiworks went from $1,700 a year in IT spend to $8,000 a month, a reflection of what a properly supported, properly secured business actually looks like.
More importantly, the compliance and security uplift opened doors that were previously closed. Multiworks is now actively tendering for defence contracts: work that demands a level of IT maturity the business simply didn't have before.
“I'd seen National IT work up close at a previous employer, so when I moved to Multiworks I knew exactly who to call. What I remembered was the accountability. They do what they say they will do, and they communicate clearly when anything changes. That is rarer than it should be.”
