Privacy Policy.
How National IT collects, uses and protects personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Who we are
National IT Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 53 102 903 122) (“National IT”, “we”, “us”) provides managed IT, cyber security, cloud and technology advisory services to Australian businesses from 114/566 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne VIC 3004.
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Contact and enquiry details: name, company, email, phone and your message, when you submit the contact form, call or email us.
- Client relationship records: account, service and billing information needed to deliver and administer our services.
- Support and service data: records of requests, correspondence and technical information about environments we manage.
- Website data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time). Our website does not require accounts and does not take payments.
Personal information inside client systems
As a managed services provider, the systems we manage for clients contain information about their staff, customers and suppliers. We handle that information only to deliver the contracted services, under obligations in our service agreements that mirror this policy: we use it solely to perform our obligations, we protect it against misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we do not transfer it outside Australia or allow access from outside Australia without the client's consent.
How we collect it
Directly from you (forms, phone, email and in the course of providing services), from our systems as we deliver those services, and automatically through standard web-server logs when you visit this website. Our website currently sets only the cookies necessary for it to function; if we add analytics in future, this policy will be updated first.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and provide requested information or estimates.
- To deliver, support and administer our services, including billing.
- To send service notices, and marketing that you can opt out of at any time (as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option).
- To meet our legal, contractual and insurance obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to: technology vendors whose platforms we use or manage (for example Microsoft, security and backup providers); providers of our own business systems (such as ticketing and monitoring platforms); professional advisers and insurers; a purchaser as part of a sale or restructure of our business; and where required or authorised by law.
Some vendor platforms store data outside Australia (for example, cloud services with overseas regions). Where that occurs, we take the reasonable steps required by the APPs to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy.
Security
Security is our core business. We protect personal information through our ISO/IEC 27001-certified security management system and controls aligned to the Australian Cyber Security Centre's Essential Eight, including access controls, multi-factor authentication, encryption in transit, monitoring and staff security training. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and you provide information to us over the internet at your own risk.
Data breaches
We operate under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act. If a data breach involving personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the scheme requires.
Access and correction
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, using the contact details below. We will verify your identity and respond within a reasonable period. We do not charge to make a request; if meeting a request involves significant work, any cost will be discussed with you first.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
